One of the possible outcomes from a disciplinary hearing is that there is no further action. This is normally when further information has come to light as if this had been available at the investigation stage, it may have been the decision that no formal action was required.
This letter confirms to the employee that the matter is now considered closed.
It is also important to set the expected standard of behaviour moving forward, as well as giving the employee the opportunity to raise any concerns.
